Scientists and scholars believe ghosts are more a matter of mental state or surrounding conditions than factual reality. Of course these learned scientists and scholars once thought there was no possibility of life on Mars until recent NASA evidence proved otherwise.

As writers of the “Michigan Vacation Guide: Cottages, Chalets, Condos, B&B’s” book, we have visited hundreds of lodgings and numerous restaurants, pubs and historical sites across our state. Over the past 16 years we have met many reputable people who have experienced something so powerful they have become true believers in the paranormal. These individuals have told us fascinating stories and identified locations they sincerely believe to be haunted. Are they simply ghost stories, urban legends, folklore or fact? That’s what we'll be investigating.

We want to go beyond the ghost stories and urban legends. We want to take you with us on our journey into some of Michigan’s most reputed haunted bed and breakfasts, inns, hotels, restaurants and other well-known locations as we investigate the unknown. We want you to see what we see, hear what we hear, feel what we feel.

You’ll join some of Michigan’s most reputable paranormal groups. Meet the people. Enter into the stories and history of each location as we reveal the haunted facts … with a skeptic’s eye.

Our experiences will sometimes be funny, sometimes thought-provoking and sometimes chilling. The material revealed in this book and Web site will be completely unaltered or changed in any way. You'll see it and hear it just as we did (audio adjustments may be made for clarity).
